Note :

Society for Promotion of Horticulture (SPH) was started on 20th Sept 2005 at ICAR- Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bengaluru with 16 patrons and 146 founder life members and it was registered on 21.01.2006 under Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960. The objectives of the Society are to advance the scientific principles and practices in horticulture and to promote the profession of horticultural science; to publish journals, bibliographies, monographs, books, reviews, etc., in horticultural science; to organize Seminars, Conference, Symposia for discussion and dissemination of current development in the field of horticultural science; to promote close relationship with the International Society for Horticultural Science Belgium and other related societies in the field of horticulture; to recognize the contribution of outstanding researchers in all aspects of horticultural science and to institute suitable annual or biennial awards. At present the society has 745 life members including 25 Patrons. The society has a strong team of EC members along with 6 zonal councilors representing Pan India.
